Thai Rayon Public Co., Ltd. is the pioneer manufacturer of Viscose Rayon Staple Fibre in Thailand and the largest exporter in the world. It is a joint venture between the world renowned Aditya Birla Group of India and leading businessmen in Thailand.

Aditya Birla Group is one of the largest manufacturer of viscose staple fibre in the  world. Aditya Birla Group pioneered the manufacture of VSF in India and as well as in Thailand and Indonesia using indigenous resources, know-how and equipment decades ago and today, it is at the nerve centre of the cellulosic fibre industry in the world.

Aditya Birla Group has developed several improved varieties of viscose fibres, including new generations of specialty  fibres. These fibres produced from indigenous mixed-hardwood pulp, are comparable with the best in the  world.

The company received the technical knowhow from M/S Grasim Industries Ltd., India, a joint venture partner and the largest manufacturer of Viscose Rayon Staple Fibre in the world. Grasim Industries Ltd., have supplied turnkey projects in India, South Korea and Cuba and have set up a joint venture in Indonesia to manufacture viscose rayon staple fibre. The production capacity of Birla Group companies in India and abroad put together stands the largest in the world (about 24% of the Global Production.)

Thai Rayon commenced production in October 1976 with a production capacity of 9125 MT per annum which has been gradually increased from time to time and presently the plant is operating at a production capacity of 79,500 MT per annum.

Viscose Rayon Staple Fibre is a vital raw material for the textile and non woven industry. After meeting 100% domestic requirement, the company is exporting almost 40,000 MT per annum to China, Pakistan, South Korea, Australia, Indonesia, Mexico, Canada, Malaysia, Philippines, U.S.A., South American, European countries. The plant also produces a substantial quantity of Sodium Sulphate as a co-product (capacity 55,000 MT per annum) mainly for domestic consumption.

The company produces Viscose Rayon Staple Fibre in the range of 0.8 to 5 Denier with a staple fibre length in the range of 32 mm to 101 mm.

Rayon fibre of a variety of specification is available in the lustre of Bright Bleached, Semi Dull Bleached and Full Dull Bleached to meet requirement of textile and non-woven industry. The company produces chlorine-free fibre, i.e, hydrogen-peroxide bleached fibre & Anti-Bacterial Fibre for Hygeine purpose.
